    Hey everyone, today I am presenting you the latest update of Nighttime Souls: Prepare to die again,
    which is called Of Ash & Dust. This has been a crazy journey and I am so happy to release this
    update today after working on the mod for almost iii years at present. Thanks to everyone who
    helped and supported me over the fourth dimension.

    The modernistic has been on a long journey over the years, from
    inception as a Scholar of the First Sin-esque expansion of Dark Souls 1 to a
    complete rework of the telescopic of progression and regaining that feeling of the
    first run through your journeying beyond this gaming classic. Much has now been
    adapted - from the addition of new spells to upgraded bosses and areas
    given much more than meaning and a sense of cohesion beyond both the first and
    second half of the championship.

     All of that- and now, all with new things to experience... with the long-awaited and
    carefully adult v9 - Of Ash & Grit

    One affair to note is that PTDA is not compatible with Whatsoever other mod which affects
    gameplay (such as "Rekindled", or "Daughters of Ash")...
    this is a standalone projection and should be treated as such - though by and large
    speaking graphics enhancers volition pair just fine.

      Hey there. I installed the modern but my Controller isn't responding. Aforementioned with mouse and keyboard. I have to concord Enter to be able to move the Mouse. Can you help me?

      Happens to me, too. I find if i unplug the controller, then plug it back in, that;due south usually enough to set up it.

      That's intended. The bonfire warp got replaced by a new fast travel arrangement.

    No interesting changes found, some items moved 20 meters away etc but zip interesting, completed everything and went to depth and understood there are so few changes it's similar playing vanilla.

      And then you completely missed the dream boss fights, the 4 male monarch quests, Oscar's quest, all the new area additions, the new spells, new rings, restored cut content, bow and crossbow changes, all the remainder changes, the new fast travel arrangement, changes to boss fights like the Bed of Chaos rework, the new Izalith, inverse blaze positions and much more? Certain, and so it'due south just like vanilla :D

    dearest this mod merely would really love to run into a version that keeps the original bonfire warping in tact. I find the new system to be a little besides inconvenient and I'thousand typically wandering around for long periods of time just to find the coffins and ferrymen. Love the modernistic regardless though!!

    The mod is really cool and it seems that there is a lot of endeavor put into it.. But instead of letting the new stuff smoothen, the mod seems to focus on artifical difficulty like mobs of enemies, enemies that cannot be riposted or backstabbed and medium shields becoming useless for parrying. The existing changes already makes it very interesting and intriguing to play(dominate modifications, fast travel, area effects); just cutting down the existing mechanichs leads to less various and boring combat as well as less viablility for certain builds(especially thiefs) and takes the attending abroad from the improvements.

      The only area where in that location are some more enemies than normal is Undead Burg, simply they are all weak and die in i hit. And the only enemies that tin can't be riposted or backstabbed anymore are Silver Knights and Black Knights, because simply like Berenike Knights, they are supposed to be a threat and not a parry training footing.
      In fact, there are even so medium shields that tin can parry: Every round medium shield is able to do that.

      There are many areas with more than densely populated or annoyingly placed enemies. The same critical hit goes for Infested Barbarians and Serpents besides. It may exist more challanging for wariors, only for thiefs, who already have a limited enemies that can be critically damaged and bled, it is rather wearisome. The facts that half of shields suddenly bashes for 3 dmg, instead of parrying, while getting attacked by a argent knight and ambushed past painting guardian at the same fourth dimension was non a great combination. Overall changes regarding the world are incredible and easily the all-time of the overhaul mods. Simply changes in mechanics felt unnecesery and off-putting which led me to writing this post in a bit of frustration. Forgive me if I sounded salty or negative; I really appreicate your work simply some parts just felt over the tiptop.

    so can anyone give me advice on whether or not i should appoint quelaag, but without spoilers? i'm not sure if i fifty-fifty have a say in the thing only it looks similar i might and i'd prefer to not fight her if i tin can ring the bell or whatever without killing her.

    edit: just looked through some of the prior comments and read that quelaag is actually non optional. well ok, but at present the question is, volition information technology brand any difference WHEN i kill her? similar sooner or later than this or that? i'chiliad just afraid of doing something i'll regret but non exist able to take back, which seems quite easy correct now.

    I actually like the modernistic so far, but
    1 Gaping dragon is a bit BS and the same with Moonlight prince (although I experience like I but got really unlucky on him)
    two Ferrymen are a keen thought, merely playcement of some of them isn't the best. Perhaps calculation an ability to warp to some bonfires or an option to warp to firelink on the particular y'all get for souls of Scorched knights would set up that
    3 Argent knights can't be riposted after killing O&S in my game. Don't know if information technology's intentional, but information technology'due south pretty annoying
    4 Environmental effects make the band that boosts your damage while full hp useless
    5 A pair of additional Ferrymen coins would exist squeamish. I didn't paid attention to how many of them I have until I ran out, in The Ash Lake...
    6 Would exist nice to have links to mod'southward Discord and Wiki in the description

      Thank you for your feedback! I just wanted to react to some of your points:
      1 Both bosses are supposed to be endgame bosses, so fighting them early will be a really tough claiming
      3 Argent Knights aren't supposed to exist riposted
      iv Each environmental effect can be countered with sure gear or furnishings

    A lot of people accept been proverb this is better than Daughters of Ash because the latter has a lot more than trollish or gotcha enemy placements. Which is a weird view IMO because while this modern does experience better designed, it has a lot of its own trollish gotcha moments besides. Specially when going through Sen'south Fortress and Anor Londo. Feels like more than half the enemies have been moved specifically to f*** with returning players.

    I'grand not hating on the mod, I'm only surprised Daughters of Ash gets hate for doing something that this mod seemingly gets love for doing the verbal same fashion.

      Cheers for your honest feedback. I am deplorable that yous feel that my mod has a lot of "trollish gotcha moments". I would like to hear more about what yous think these encounters are in detail. For example, the placements in Anor Londo were made to be more than of a surprise and non to troll the role player. I was carefully placing enemies and testing all their positions myself and at least for me the placements were a lot easier to handle than in vanilla (if yous know which section I am talking about).

      In Sen'due south I don't actually know which moments you might talking about. And then delight feel free to testify me which placements you found also much so we can talk about them :)

      @FTRichter You probably have a bias and can't become a proper sense of what's like to play through since you know all the enemy placements before hand since you put them there.

    I just started this modern and can't find whatever info near this: how does the new equip load system work? I noticed that I'm a bit over 25% only I'm even so fast rolling, notwithstanding my character is walking effectually like they're at mid equip load.

    EDIT: After finding more stuff to weigh me down, it seems like you removed the mid-curlicue entirely, and that's the just real difference.

    And what happened during the Taurus Demon fight? That NPC guy in the centre of the span attacked me for no reason, then the demon hit him with friendly fire a few times, then they started fighting each other! The dude that attacked me killed the demon, then he bowed to me similar I helped and gifted me Emit Force???

    Not maxim I don't similar this mod then far. But some weird stuff is happening. It made me laugh.

      The Taurus fight is supposed to be this manner. You come across the knight and he tries to terminate you from crossing the bridge. Merely then the Taurus Demon joins the fight and if both the knight and Taurus reach a certain amount of HP, the knight volition try to fight the Demon as this is the bigger threat in the moment. He bows to you if he survives the fight and thank you you for not killing him.

      I suppose I'd exist thankful too if someone didn't murder me (Wasn't really communicated clearly that nosotros were teaming up all suddenly though). I thought he only had enough of the Taurus Demon'south friendly fire and turned aggro. Well I'one thousand not complaining.

      Really enjoying this modernistic then far by the way. I don't really have anything bad to say near it. You brought some of the better parts of DS2 into this like its ammo types(especially lacerating), throwing weapons, and new spells. Navigation doesn't experience like a headache like it did in Daughters of Ash (which I merely came off of concluding calendar week). The encounters are different enough to stay interesting. It'due south like a more interesting NG+;that's what I expected from the mod's title, and that's what I got. I really like it.
      I specially appreciate the add-on of difficulty modifiers from the start, then I can make the game harder on NG, like DS2'southward Company of Champions.

      Oh, I gauge I do have one matter to say about Blighttown. A bug?

      There wasn't any message explaining the Blighttown poisonous substance air mechanic, when I entered through the door. Didn't even know what the new status icon meant. Google had nothing, had to figure information technology out much afterwards through experimenting. Afterwards, I noticed LobosJr got the message when he entered the dorsum cave entrance, so idk why information technology didn't happen at the normal entrance.
